Dsquared to style the ultimate drama queen

Dan and Dean Caten are to design the outfits for Britney Spears world tour, bringing back the classic D2 clowns and LA kitsch.
The twins are also appearing on stage alongside Britney, in heels...
According to Martina at Dazed "Britney appears as the lion-tamer, decked out in a red and blue jacket with gold rope piping and, simultaneously, as the beast. She whips off her jacket to reveal a black chiffon and crystal-encrusted three-piece vixen corset, whereupon she is enslaved by leather hooded chain-bound dancers. Also appearing in DSquared2 designs are myriad menacing sado-clowns and salacious centaurs. A tour of characters open for endless interpretation and comparisons for those fascinated with the highs and lows of Spears."
make of it what you wish, i dont really get the love of hollywood celebs  (Rihanna also modeled for them in Milan in sept.)

Anne Valerie Hash a/w 09

Finally some fur, where has all the fur gone this season, ok maybe there is some more to come, but so far, not much... the 1 piece body suits are also great and my favorite is the 80's color scheme.

Kris van Assche a/w 09

the Kris van Assche a/w09 show took place in Paris yesterday, the collections was very dark, more or less black with only two light (white) pieces. The garments are very airy and have a certain touch of ancient Egypt about it for example the second picture below, the head piece could have been stolen from the tomb of sphinx -)

Balenciaga a/w 09

Today at 10 o'clock was the much anticipated Balenciaga pret a porter show in Paris.
As always, the most exciting feature about the whole collection were the shoes and the jewelry.

Stephen Sprouse R.I.P.

Stephen Sprouse is dead, that is a given but since january this year there has been quite the revival of is work in various forms. First, Marc Jacobs brought back to live the collection they designed together for Louis Vuitton in form of a tribute collection with his old prints ranging from sunglasses and speedos to the traditional keepall bags. Le Book New York was also redesigned with his work and a couple of weeks ago we saw the release of The Stephen Sprouse book which is available at selected Louis Vuitton stores.
Sprouse who died in March 2004 was known for his vibrant graffiti prints and cyber punk collections, his label announced bankruptcy more than once and he collaborated with artists such as Keith Haring and Andy Warhol. Stephen Sprouse designed for Debbie Harry aka Blondie, Duran Duran and Bily Idol.
He died of Heart Failure and Lung Cancer, may he rest in peace.

Christophe Decarnin aka BALMAIN

I wonder if Pierre Balmain would have thought that during the worlds biggest financial crisis in history, his fashion house would be the most successful and setting new limits when he founded Balmain back in 1945.
This is all down to Christophe Decarnin, a small town shy french man who was appointed in 2005 after the house of Balmain filed for bankruptcy and was bought by private investors. Before, Decarnin designed at Paco Rabanne for over a decade.
Since the relaunch of Balmain, its sales figures have more than doubled and there is no end in sight, with all the celebrities falling for the price tag of more than $1900 for a pair of jeans, who is surprised. When the new S/S 09 collection hit Browns in London, the jeans were sold out within a week and Balmain currently can not match the demand.
No wonder they call it Balmania...
